How about Beef rather than Turkey?

By Lewis Matthews

When deciding on Christmas dinner this year, did you ever think of choosing Albion beef? It’s a rare breed and by supporting your local butchers and local farmers who breed these beautiful animals you will be supporting the breed to come back strong. Put it in front of anyone and they won’t be disappointed, with deep flavour and great marbling it makes a great centre piece to your Christmas table. At New Barn Farm Dorset our steers are grass fed only and reared on our family farm. We are passionate about bringing back our native breeds that can not only pack good flavour, but when you choose to eat this meat you are supporting British farming and their native animals. We supply our local Websters butchers whose customers have fallen in love with this breed's meat, and the people at the abattoir said they were the nicest steers they have seen in years. We pride ourselves on good husbandry, grass fed, happy cows. Our long term goal is to make a marked contribution to the sustained return of this beautiful breed of cow; to do this we need people to spread awareness of the Albion and choose beef!

We have recently been contacted by a bespoke butcher who specifically wants a pure Albion steer this January, no more details yet but we look forward to providing the required steer and finding out more about who is so forward thinking to select an Albion for their beef! #backbritishfarming
